We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled Backup Engineer with 1–3 years of experience in backup and recovery solutions. The candidate will be responsible for monitoring, managing, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise backup environments to ensure data protection, availability, and recovery readiness.
The candidate should have hands-on experience with at least one enterprise backup technology such as Veeam, Avamar, NetWorker, Arcserve, or Carbonite.
Monitor daily backup jobs and ensure successful completion.
Perform backup, restore, and recovery operations.
Troubleshoot backup failures and resolve issues within defined timelines.
Manage backup schedules, retention policies, and storage utilization.
Support implementation and maintenance of backup infrastructure.
Coordinate with server, storage, and application teams for backup requirements.
Generate backup reports and maintain operational documentation.
Ensure backup compliance and data protection standards are followed.
Participate in disaster recovery and restoration testing activities.
Provide technical support for backup-related incidents and service requests.
Candidates must meet the following requirements:
1–3 years of relevant experience in Backup/Recovery/Backup Administration.
Hands-on experience in at least one of the following:
Veeam
Dell EMC Avamar
Dell EMC NetWorker
Arcserve
Carbonite
Knowledge of backup and recovery concepts.
Experience with backup monitoring, troubleshooting, backup failures, restore/recovery operations.
Understanding of Windows and/or Linux server environments.
Basic knowledge of storage and virtualization concepts.
Good troubleshooting and analytical skills.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
VMware or Hyper-V exposure.
Cloud backup solutions.
Disaster Recovery processes.
ITIL process awareness.
Relevant backup/IT certifications.
Good communication skills.
Problem-solving attitude.
Willingness to learn new technologies.
Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
Willingness to work in rotational shifts, if required.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Relevant certifications are an added advantage.
Shortlist priority: Candidates with hands-on Veeam, Avamar, or NetWorker experience should be prioritized, followed by Arcserve and Carbonite candidates.
