Position               :        Database Administrator (DBA) –Oracle DBA / Dell DBA MySQL and Postgres 

Experience          :       10+ Yrs

 Location             :        Jagatpura, Jaipur

Working days:    :         5.5 Days (1st, 3rd & 5th Saturdays are working)


Change the requirement to PostgreSQL + MySQL Database Engineer. PostgreSQL and MySQL are mandatory; other database skills are desirable. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing secure, highly available, and scalable database solutions for mission-critical financial applications, leveraging AWS-managed services and open-source databases, ensuring compliance, and driving performance optimization and automation.

 


Key Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Design

    • Design HA/DR strategies for AWS RDS, Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DocumentDB, and Redshift.

    • Define backup, restore, PITR, and disaster recovery plans aligned with financial compliance.

    • Optimize schema design, indexing, and query performance for OLTP and OLAP workloads.

  • Cloud Database Management

    • Provision and manage AWS RDS/Aurora clusters, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB (Atlas/DocumentDB), and Redshift.

    • Configure replication, sharding, read/write splitting, and parameter groups.

    • Implement monitoring and alerting using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and native DB tools.

  • Performance & Optimization

    • Conduct query tuning, index optimization, and capacity planning.

    • Implement caching strategies and connection pooling for high-volume transactions.

  • Security & Compliance

    • Enforce encryption at rest and in transit using AWS KMS and TLS.

    • Implement IAM roles, RBAC, and audit logging for compliance with RBI, PCI-DSS, and ISO 27001.

    • Manage secrets securely using AWS Secrets Manager.

  • Automation & DevOps

    • Automate provisioning and configuration using Terraform/CloudFormation and Ansible.

    • Integrate database changes into CI/CD pipelines using Liquibase/Flyway.

  • Data Integration & Analytics

    • Configure CDC and replication for PostgreSQL/MySQL to Kafka or analytics platforms.

    • Manage ETL/ELT pipelines for Redshift and reporting systems.

  • Cost Optimization

    • Optimize instance sizing, storage, and IOPS for cost efficiency.

    • Implement governance for snapshot retention and resource utilization.


Required Skills

  • Experience: 8+ years in database management; 4+ years in cloud database platforms.

  • Core Databases: PostgreSQL and MySQL (desired), AWS RDS/Aurora, MongoDB, DocumentDB, Redshift.

  • Cloud Expertise: AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, Secrets Manager).

  • Automation: Terraform, Ansible, Python/Bash scripting.

  • Compliance: RBI, PCI-DSS, ISO 27001 security standards.

  • Performance Tuning: Query optimization, indexing, replication strategies.


Certifications aren’t mandatory but having them is an advantage.

  • AWS Certified Database – Specialty

  • PostgreSQL Professional Certification

  • MongoDB DBA Certification


Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving and RCA capabilities.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.

Ability to mentor junior engineers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Installation of RDBMS software and creation of Oracle databases on windows/Linux platform

  • Good knowledge of exp-imp, data pump utility.

  • Maintaining physical and logical backups via user managed & RMAN backup recoveries.

  • Checking Alert Log files for Internal Database Activity, DB related error

  • Applying Different Types of Patches on quarterly For Fixing the bugs and Security issues.

  • Creating users, allocation to appropriate table space, as with necessary privileges and roles for all databases.

  • Upgrade oracle database using DBCA/exp-imp utility.

  • Database performance tuning and configuring stats pack report.

  • Develop processes for optimizing database security.

  • Set and maintain database standards.

  • Manage database access.

  • Diagnose and troubleshoot database errors.

  • Recommend and implement emerging database technologies.

  • Create and manage database reports, visualizations, and dashboards.

  • Create automation for repeating database tasks.

  • Be available for on-call support as needed. Database Administrator

 

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Strong command of SQL and SQL server tools

  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle database security, backup and recovery, and performance monitoring standards

  • Understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling

  • PowerShell and Unix shell scripting skills

  • Familiarity with SSAS, SSIS, SSRS

  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Impeccable attention to detail

 

Education and Experience Requirements:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field

  • Three years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field

  • Experience with Linux, Windows Server, Virtualization, and Hyperconverged environments

  • Extensive experience with database technologies (MySQL, MS SQL, PostgreSQL Oracle or MongoDB)

  • Experience with cloud services (AWS, Microsoft Azure) a plus

  • Transparent communication and the ability to work with a diverse team and customers at all levels

  • The want to continually learn and expand knowledge/skills and will to share with the rest of the team
