  • Data & Analytics: originations funnels & TAT, vintage/roll‑rate, PAR/DPD/NPA forecasting, collection strategy optimization, portfolio profitability, early‑warning signals

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Roadmap

  • Define and execute the roadmap for Retail Assets across LOS/LMS/CMS, underwriting (FICO + BRE), digital channels, data, and collections—aligned to growth, risk appetite, and unit economics.

  • Establish target‑state reference architectures for secured and unsecured journeys, with clear domain boundaries and product‑line KPIs.

Delivery Governance

  • Govern discovery‑to‑hypercare delivery across internal squads and strategic partners/SIs; drive predictable release trains via Agile/DevSecOps.

  • Institutionalize secure SDLC, quality gates, automated testing, performance engineering, and DR/BCP with agreed RPO/RTO for tier‑1 platforms.

Architecture & Engineering Excellence

  • Lead platform modernization to API‑first, event‑driven microservices, container orchestration, and cloud‑native services; ensure observability (APM/logs/traces), SRE practices, and SLOs for critical journeys (e.g., PL STP, CC issuance, Wheels sanction & disbursal).

  • Standardize integration patterns with core banking, payments, bureaus, AA, CKYC/NSDL, DigiLocker, GSTN, MCA, e‑Sign/e‑Stamp, NPCI e‑mandates, and card networks.

Credit Underwriting & Decisioning (FICO + BRE)

  • Own the end‑to‑end underwriting stack across FICO decisioning and a centralized BRE—from intake to decision, including rule/policy versioning, auditability, and rollback.

  • Implement champion–challenger and A/B experimentation for rules/scorecards; manage risk‑based pricing, line assignment/management, limit increases, and cross‑sell/upsell offers.

  • Ensure low‑latency decisioning with strict SLAs (p95/p99), graceful degradation, and high availability across peak volumes.

  • Build a policy authoring & governance framework (change control, maker–checker, approval workflows, release calendars) with segmentation by product, geography, channel, and customer archetype.

  • Integrate bureaus, AA data, device signals, income surrogates, fraud services, and alternate data into FICO/BRE, with explainability and adverse‑action reason codes for declined/conditioned decisions.

  • Stand up model monitoring for drift, stability indices, Gini/KS, acceptance/bad rates, override rates, and operational metrics (decision latency, error budgets).

  • Align with Model Risk Management and internal audit—documentation, validation cycles, challenger models, back‑testing, and periodic recalibration.

  • Enable pre‑approved and pre‑qualified programs (PAPL/PPF) via rule packs and segment‑specific strategies, with consented data usage and opt‑outs compliant with DPDP.

Credit Cards & Unsecured

  • Own issuer stack across card management, switch/authorization, tokenization, 3DS 2.x, EMV, dispute/chargeback, rewards, and UPI on credit; ensure network certifications and performance SLAs.

  • Drive post‑issuance activation, EMI conversions, collections strategy, and complaint reduction.

Collections & Recoveries

  • Run a modern collections decision engine with segmented strategies (soft/hard buckets), omni‑channel nudges, dialer integration, field app, legal workflows, repo/auction where applicable, and promise‑to‑pay tracking.

  • Instrument portfolio early‑warning and roll‑rate dashboards; optimize allocation across in‑house/agency/ML strategies.

Data, Analytics & AI

  • Partner with Data teams to enable real‑time dashboards for funnels, risk, and collections; deploy ML models for underwriting, propensity, churn, and recovery.

  • Champion Generative/Agentic AI for sales enablement, QA automation, knowledge retrieval, collections scripts, and developer productivity—safely and compliantly.

Vendors & Financials

  • Own vendor strategy (RFP, evaluation, commercials, SLAs, scorecards) and total cost of ownership; drive license rationalization and run‑cost optimization.

Stakeholder Management

  • Be the trusted technology partner to Retail Assets business heads; translate goals into technology outcomes and measurable OKRs.

Candidate Profile

Experience

  • 15–22 years in technology leadership across retail lending and/or cards at a large bank/NBFC, global bank captive, or Tier‑1 fintech/SI.

  • Proven ownership of two or more large‑scale transformations (e.g., LOS/LMS modernization, credit‑card issuer stack, collections transformation, decision engine rollout with FICO/BRE).

  • Hands‑on familiarity with Salesforce, FICO (e.g., Decision Management Platform/Blaze Advisor), enterprise BRE/DMN tools, LOS/LMS (e.g., FinnOne/Intellect/Newgen or equivalent), collections platforms (e.g., Credgenics or equivalent)

Technical & Domain Depth

  • Architecture: high‑volume, low‑latency systems; microservices, event streams, API gateways, caching, container orchestration, observability.

  • Underwriting & Risk: scorecards, policy rules, challenger‑champion, risk‑based pricing, line management, reason‑codes/explainability, and model monitoring (drift, PSI/CSI/Gini/KS).

  • Security & Compliance: IAM, secrets/KMS/HSM, network segmentation/zero‑trust, secure SDLC, PCI DSS, tokenization, data masking/tokenization, consent management.

  • Integrations: bureaus, AA, CKYC/NSDL, UIDAI (via licensed partners), DigiLocker, e‑Sign/e‑Stamp, NACH/eNACH, UPI/BBPS/PGs, GSTN/MCA, card networks, collections dialers/CC.

  • Data: real‑time analytics, vintage & roll‑rate analysis, MDM, reconciliations, and regulatory/statutory reporting pipelines.

  • AI/Automation: practical application of GenAI/Agentic AI, RPA (e.g., UiPath), and model lifecycle governance.

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Executive presence; crisp communication of trade‑offs and risk with CXO/business heads.

  • Talent magnet—hire, coach, and retain strong engineering/product/data leaders.

  • Commercial acumen: budgeting, vendor negotiations, outcome‑based SLAs.

Education

  • B.E./B.Tech. or equivalent in Computer Science/Engineering; MBA or relevant post‑grad preferred.
