Role Overview
As a Software Engineer II - Java at JPMorganChase in Mumbai, Maharashtra, you will be part of an agile team dedicated to enhancing, designing, and delivering software components for the firm's advanced technology products. Key Responsibilities
- Execute standard software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
- Write secure and high-quality code using Java with limited guidance.
- Utilize enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, while validating outputs through peer review and automated testing.
- Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems.
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to enhance automation value.
- Conduct technical troubleshooting to resolve basic complexity problems.
- Analyze large, diverse data sets to identify issues and contribute to secure, stable application development.
- Learn and apply methodologies for developing secure, stable code and systems.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 2+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience in Java.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Proficient in using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
- Experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
- Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
Preferred Qualifications
- Full stack Java development experience in enterprise applications.
- Strong experience in SDLC delivery using Agile methodologies.
- At least two years of experience with Java 17 or later.
- Experience in developing microservices deployed on AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service and/or Elastic Container Service.
- Proficient in writing Terraform scripts for AWS production environments.
- Experience with at least one relational database management system, preferably Oracle or PostgreSQL.
