Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Execute standard software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
• Write secure and high-quality code using the syntax of at least one programming language with limited guidance.
• Utilize enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
• Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration for upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
• Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) toolchain to enhance automation capabilities.
• Perform technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and resolve technical problems of basic complexity.
• Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify issues and contribute to decision-making for secure, stable application development.
• Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for developing secure, stable code and systems.

Required Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and a minimum of 2 years of applied experience.
• Hands-on practical experience in Java.
• Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
• Experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
• Exposure to agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience as a full stack Java developer in enterprise application development.
• Strong experience in SDLC delivery using Agile methodologies.
• At least two years of experience with Java 17+.
• Experience in developing microservices, packaged into AWS Elastic Kubernetes Service and/or Elastic Container Service, and deployed to EC2 instances.
• Experience writing Terraform scripts and deploying in AWS production environments.
• Familiarity with at least one relational database management system (preferably Oracle or PostgreSQL).
