The role
Job description
Who are we?
Myntra is India’s leading fashion and lifestyle platform, where technology meets creativity. As pioneers in fashion e-commerce, we’ve always believed in disrupting the ordinary.
We thrive on a shared passion for fashion, a drive to innovate to lead, and an environment that empowers each one of us to pave our own way. We’re bold in our thinking, agile in our execution, and collaborative in spirit.
Here, we create MAGIC by inspiring vibrant and joyous self-expression and expanding fashion possibilities for India, while staying true to what we believe in.
We believe in taking bold bets and changing the fashion landscape of India. We are a company that is constantly evolving into newer and better forms and we look for people who are ready to evolve with us.
From our humble beginnings as a customization company in 2007 to being technology and fashion pioneers today, Myntra is going places and we want you to take part in this journey with us.
Working at Myntra is challenging but fun - we are a young and dynamic team, firm believers in meritocracy, believe in equal opportunity, encourage intellectual curiosity and empower our teams with the right tools, space, and opportunities.
Platform Architect, Developer Productivity
The role
You will set the multi-year architecture for Myntra’s developer platform: the CI/CD, environments, tooling, and AI-assisted engineering workflows that every engineering team builds on. You will be the final authority on trade-offs between developer experience, reliability, security, and cost. The goal is to make shipping fast, safe, and cheap for engineers across Myntra, and to measure it by outcomes rather than activity. You will own the platform blueprint across multiple product areas, not just one, and will weigh emerging technology trends against long-term business goals.
What you will do
- Define the architecture and roadmap for a unified internal developer platform, with paved paths for build, test, deploy, observe, and operate. The platform should support 10x scale.
- Own the architecture blueprint across product areas. Unify duplicated patterns, tooling, and service hops into shared platforms, and remove silos between teams.
- Turn vague developer pain points, such as slow pipelines, environment sprawl, and on-call toil, into clear problems and technical directions, and drive them to shipped systems.
- Decide which problems matter at division scale and which to ignore, and drive major technology decisions to closure across product areas.
- Set the standard for AI-assisted engineering across the division: agent workflows, secure prompting, AI code review and verification, and token/compute governance.
- Define AI-native engineering paradigms for the division, including how autonomous agents are used, supervised, and kept within safe boundaries.
- Make build vs. buy vs. offload calls on tooling (including AI tools) using cost data. Replace expensive vendor tools with leaner internal or open-source ones where the numbers support it.
- Establish observability, SLO, and chaos-engineering standards that reduce org-wide MTTR. Design for graceful degradation and BCP.
- Design platforms that are self-healing and debuggable by design, remove single points of failure, and isolate heavy AI/compute workloads from core traffic.
- Own FinOps and security guardrails for platform services, including zero-trust, data privacy, and responsible-AI boundaries.
- Set division-wide compliance, security, and cost-governance standards, and balance large multi-cloud infrastructure investments against their return.
- Measure developer productivity with SPACE and DORA, not PR or line counts. Cover satisfaction, flow, and cognitive load as well as delivery speed.
- Act as the DRI across teams. Resolve cross-functional impasses by speaking both technical and business language, and advise VPs and managers.
- Represent the platform in executive and external technical forums.
- Mentor senior engineers and sponsor named people into larger roles.
- Mentor and sponsor other architects, and build mentorship frameworks that scale beyond your direct network.
- Mentor senior engineers and sponsor named people into larger roles.
What we're looking for
- Deep experience architecting large-scale platforms, such as cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and internal developer platforms.
- Strong grounding in distributed systems design, SRE practice (SLIs/SLOs, incident response, RCA discipline), and Kubernetes, IaC, and multi-region/hybrid-cloud resilience.
- Hands-on fluency with AI IDEs and agents, plus judgment on verifying AI output, building evals, and modelling inference cost.
- Track record of adoption: platforms and standards that teams outside your own use, not slide-deck architecture.
- Cost and risk judgment, including cloud/GPU capacity planning and data-privacy compliance.
- Excellent communication, with the ability to make the final call when a group is stuck and keep trust.
- Experience owning architecture across multiple product areas or a whole division, including multi-million-dollar infrastructure decisions.
- A record of developing other architects and tech leads.
