Job description
We are looking for a smart, enthusiastic, and quick-learning PHP Developer to help maintain and improve our existing web applications, online training platforms, dashboards, and administrative systems.
We are not necessarily looking for someone with extensive professional experience. What matters most is good logical thinking, problem-solving ability, curiosity, and the confidence to learn new technologies quickly.
Our existing applications are primarily developed using PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, AJAX, and the Yii2 Framework.
The selected candidate will receive initial guidance and knowledge transfer from our current IT engineer to become familiar with the applications and their functionality.
We are open to two types of engagement:
- Full-Time: A junior developer interested in taking responsibility for our applications and growing with the organisation.
- Part-Time: A capable developer who can dedicate approximately 3–4 hours daily on a regular, long-term basis.
Technical Skills
Candidates should have basic knowledge of:
- PHP and server-side programming.
- MySQL and basic SQL queries.
- HTML5 and CSS3.
- JavaScript and jQuery.
- AJAX and handling JSON responses.
- Basic web application debugging.
Knowledge of the Yii2 Framework is desirable but not essential, provided the candidate is comfortable learning it.
Key Responsibilities
- Understand and maintain our existing PHP-based applications.
- Identify and resolve errors and bugs.
- Modify and develop web forms, dashboards, and reports.
- Work with MySQL databases and SQL queries.
- Implement minor enhancements and new features.
- Perform basic application testing and troubleshooting.
- Assist with routine website and application maintenance.
- Maintain basic documentation of technical changes.
- Gradually take responsibility for the smooth functioning of existing applications.
