Lead / Senior ServiceNow Engineer – Enterprise Integrations

Job Description

We are looking for a highly experienced, hands-on Lead / Senior ServiceNow Engineer to take technical ownership of enterprise ServiceNow solutions, with a strong focus on platform engineering, complex integrations, workflows, and modern user experiences.

The ideal candidate must have deep ServiceNow development expertise, enterprise integration experience, production support ownership, and excellent stakeholder communication skills.

This is a hands-on engineering role, not a ServiceNow administration or purely functional consulting position.

Key Responsibilities1. ServiceNow Platform Engineering

• Design, develop, enhance, and support enterprise ServiceNow applications.
• Build server-side functionality using JavaScript, Glide APIs, Script Includes, Business Rules, Events, and Scheduled Jobs.
• Develop client-side functionality using Client Scripts, UI Policies, UI Actions, and Workspace actions.
• Design scalable data models, tables, relationships, reference fields, and data-integrity controls.
• Follow reusable, secure, maintainable, and upgrade-safe development practices.

2. Enterprise Integration Engineering

• Design and implement integrations between ServiceNow and external enterprise platforms.
• Work with IntegrationHub, custom spokes, actions, subflows, and Connection & Credential Aliases.
• Develop REST integrations using RESTMessageV2 and Scripted REST APIs.
• Implement OAuth 2.0, JSON processing, webhooks, callbacks, and API authentication.
• Configure and manage MID Server connectivity for private enterprise systems.
• Handle retries, timeouts, idempotency, duplicate prevention, error handling, and asynchronous processing.

3. Customer Service Management (CSM)

• Design and enhance case management, case lifecycle, assignment and routing, agent queues, approvals, SLAs, and notifications.
• Develop business workflows and integrations around ServiceNow case management.
• Ensure efficient case processing, data integrity, and reliable system behavior.

4. Configurable Workspace & UI Builder

• Build modern user experiences using Configurable Workspace and UI Builder.
• Configure Declarative Actions, Data Resources, contextual panels, dynamic forms, related lists, and user actions.
• Develop intuitive interfaces integrated with backend services and business workflows.

5. Flow Designer / Workflow Studio

• Build reusable flows, actions, subflows, approval processes, triggers, and decision logic.
• Implement asynchronous execution and exception handling.
• Select appropriate solutions across Flow Designer, Business Rules, Script Includes, Events, and integration services.

6. Security & Access Control

• Configure ACLs, roles, groups, table-level and field-level security.
• Implement secure API access, credential management, service accounts, and least-privilege access.
• Maintain audit logging, traceability, and end-user authorization across integrations.

7. Production Support & Release Management

• Troubleshoot production issues across ServiceNow applications, workflows, APIs, and external integrations.
• Perform log analysis, API debugging, performance troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis.
• Lead defect resolution, hotfixes, rollback planning, and post-release validation.
• Manage DEV, TEST, UAT, and PROD deployments.
• Work with Update Sets, Scoped Applications, Application Repository, source control, and Automated Test Framework (ATF).
• Maintain engineering standards and ensure upgrade-safe implementations.

8. AI & Modern Integrations

• Integrate ServiceNow with external AI, GenAI, enterprise search, and intelligence platforms.
• Exchange user, case, and workflow context with external APIs.
• Process external responses and display relevant information within Workspace.
• Maintain audit history, source references, error handling, and traceability.

Mandatory Technical Skills

• 8–12+ years of overall technology experience.
• 5–7+ years of hands-on ServiceNow engineering and development experience.
• Strong expertise in ServiceNow JavaScript, Glide APIs, Script Includes, Business Rules, and Client Scripts.
• Experience with ServiceNow CSM, Configurable Workspace, and UI Builder.
• Strong knowledge of IntegrationHub, Flow Designer, and Workflow Studio.
• Hands-on experience with RESTMessageV2, Scripted REST APIs, OAuth 2.0, JSON, and webhooks.
• Experience with MID Server, asynchronous integrations, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Strong understanding of ACLs, data modelling, security, and access control.
• Proven production troubleshooting, performance analysis, release management, and root-cause analysis experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in ServiceNow Product Engineering, Professional Services, Customer Outcomes, or an equivalent technical engineering role.
• ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) and Certified Application Developer (CAD).
• CIS certifications, particularly in CSM, and relevant architecture or integration certifications.
• Experience with AWS or other major cloud platforms.
• Exposure to AI/GenAI and enterprise-search integrations.
• Experience in financial services or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead technical design discussions with senior stakeholders.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are seeking a technically strong professional who can independently design, develop, deploy, and support complex ServiceNow solutions in production. Candidates should demonstrate strong engineering ownership, enterprise integration expertise, architectural decision-making, and the ability to communicate effectively with business and technology stakeholders.

Important: Profiles focused primarily on ServiceNow administration, functional consulting, or project management without strong hands-on development experience will not be suitable.
