Role Purpose

• Lead and drive the Testing Center of Excellence (CoE) to ensure high-quality, scalable, and efficient testing across all banking applications.

• Establish standardized testing frameworks, zero defect production, enable automation, and ensure alignment with business, regulatory, and digital transformation objectives.

• Build and mentor a high-performing testing team with domain knowledge, automation & performance testing services and tools.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• B.E. or B. Tech or MCA with minimum 15 Years of experience in software testing, with at least 5 years in leadership roles.

• Experience in banking/financial services domain (Core Banking, LOS, Treasury, Digital Banking)

• Proven experience in setting up or managing Testing CoE. Should have managed & demonstrated testing of multiple applications and team handling of over 50 testers.

• Should have good stakeholder communication, strategic thinking and problem-solving

• As a Lead- COE, should have high attention to quality and details, Strong leadership and team management

Competencies & Technical Skills Required:

• Collaborate with business, development, product, and infrastructure teams. Act as a bridge between business users and technology teams for testing needs.

• Provide periodic updates to senior leadership on quality, risks, and mitigation plans.

• Test management tools (JIRA etc), Automation tools (Selenium, Appium, API automation)

• Performance tools (JMeter, LoadRunner) and compliance with regulatory and audit requirements

• Knowledge of Agile, DevOps, and SDLC frameworks

• Demonstrate increased automation coverage, Improved release cycle time and quality scores

Key Responsibilities :

• Testing Strategy & Governance : Test strategy & roadmap for digital and core banking applications. Define and implement enterprise-wide testing strategy, standards, and best practices. Establish governance frameworks for functional, automation, performance, and UAT testing.

• Test Planning & Execution : Oversee end-to-end test lifecycle (SIT, UAT, Regression etc). Monitor testing progress, quality metrics, and release readiness.

• Automation & Innovation : Drive automation strategy across applications using modern tools (Selenium, API automation, AI-led testing tools). Evaluate and implement AI/ML use cases in testing (predictive defect analysis, smart test generation).

• Implement defect leakage control and continuous improvement practices. Analyze root causes and implement preventive quality measures.

• Publish Quality dashboards to Top Management on Testing Status of Bank wide Applications.
