Role Overview

As a Software Engineer II - Java at JPMorganChase in Hyderabad, Telangana, you will be part of an agile team within the Trust & Security division of Consumer Community Banking. This role offers an opportunity to enhance, design, and deliver software components for cutting-edge technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable manner.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute standard software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, while writing secure and high-quality code using at least one programming language with limited guidance.
• Utilize enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to enhance code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
• Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration for upstream and downstream systems and their technical implications.
• Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to improve automation value.
• Conduct technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and resolve basic complexity problems.
• Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify issues and support decision-making for secure and stable application development.
• Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for developing secure and stable code and systems.

Required Qualifications

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 2+ years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Proficient in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
• Experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, demonstrating the ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security standards.
• Experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
• AWS Certification (e.g., Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional, Developer – Associate).
• Exposure to cloud technologies.
