Role Description
We are looking for passionate AI Engineer Interns to join the LucentraCode engineering team remotely.
As an AI Engineer Intern, you'll contribute to building and improving AI-powered coding tools, intelligent agents, and LLM-based developer workflows.
You'll gain hands-on experience working with modern AI models, agentic systems, APIs, and production-level AI infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and improve AI-powered coding agents and developer tools.
- Integrate and optimize Large Language Models (LLMs) within developer workflows.
- Work on AI agent architectures, tool calling, and autonomous coding systems.
- Build and maintain APIs, backend services, and AI integrations.
- Experiment with prompt engineering, context management, caching, and inference optimization.
- Evaluate model performance, reliability, and efficiency.
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to build and ship production-ready features.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms.
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Git, GitHub, and modern software development workflows.
- Understanding of LLMs, prompt engineering, and AI agents.
- Experience working with AI APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini is a plus.
- Familiarity with agent frameworks, RAG, tool calling, or MCP is beneficial.
- Basic knowledge of backend development, REST APIs, and cloud infrastructure.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong problem-solving ability, curiosity, and willingness to learn.
Selection Process & PPO Opportunity
Candidates will be evaluated through a technical competition involving practical AI engineering challenges.
The competition will assess problem-solving skills, technical implementation, creativity, and the ability to build functional AI-powered applications.
Top-performing candidates may be selected for internship opportunities at LucentraCode.
Outstanding interns will be considered for a performance-based Pre-Placement Offer (PPO) for a full-time engineering role, based on their contributions, technical performance, and business requirements.
