Reporting To: National Business Head – Credit Card and Unsecured Loans
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
MBA/PGDM or equivalent qualification from a reputed institution.
12-18 years of experience in Banking, NBFCs, Fintechs, or Financial Services.
Strong experience in Personal Loans, Business Loans, and unsecured lending products.
Proven track record of driving portfolio growth and profitability.
Strong understanding of product management, risk management, portfolio analytics, and digital lending.
Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, and strategic planning capabilities.
Role:
Business Head for Personal Loans/Business Loans is a senior leadership role and will be responsible for leading the Personal Loan and Business Loan portfolio, driving business growth, profitability, product innovation, portfolio quality, and customer acquisition. The role will oversee end-to-end business management, including product strategy, sales, partnerships, underwriting alignment, portfolio management, and regulatory compliance to build a scalable and sustainable unsecured lending business.
Job Purpose:
To drive the growth, profitability, and market leadership of Personal Loan business at a pan-India level by developing innovative lending solutions, expanding distribution channels, optimizing portfolio performance, and ensuring effective risk management while delivering superior customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
(1) Business Strategy & Growth
Develop and execute the strategic roadmap for Personal Loan and Business Loan products.
Drive portfolio growth, revenue generation, and profitability in line with organizational objectives.
Identify new customer segments, lending opportunities, and market trends to expand the unsecured lending business.
Formulate annual business plans, budgets, and growth strategies.
Establish business targets and monitor performance against key metrics.
(2) Product Development & Management
Lead the design, development, and enhancement of Personal Loan and Business Loan products.
Develop product features and customer propositions.
Continuously assess market dynamics and competitor offerings to ensure product relevance.
Drive digital lending initiatives and automation across the customer journey.
Introduce innovative lending solutions to improve customer acquisition and retention.
(3) Sales & Distribution Management
Develop and manage multi-channel acquisition strategies through branches, direct sales teams (DST), DSAs, and fintech partnerships.
Drive productivity and performance across all sales channels.
Expand strategic partnerships and alliances to increase customer reach.
Monitor customer acquisition costs and optimize channel effectiveness.
Ensure achievement of business disbursement and sourcing targets.
(4) Portfolio Management & Profitability
Monitor portfolio performance, utilization, profitability, and customer behavior.
Drive portfolio growth while maintaining healthy risk-adjusted returns.
Develop retention, cross-sell, and customer engagement strategies.
Monitor key portfolio metrics and implement corrective actions when required.
Optimize portfolio mix to improve overall business profitability.
(5) Risk & Credit Management
Work closely with Risk and Credit teams to define underwriting policies and lending frameworks.
Ensure a balanced approach between business growth and portfolio quality.
Drive initiatives to strengthen portfolio quality and reduce credit losses.
Review and refine credit policies based on portfolio performance and market conditions.
(6) Regulatory Compliance & Governance
Ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements, internal policies, and governance standards.
Work closely with Compliance, Legal, and Audit teams to maintain regulatory compliance.
Implement robust controls and monitoring mechanisms across lending operations.
Ensure fair lending practices and customer-centric business conduct.
(7) Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with Risk, Operations, Technology, Finance, Marketing, Collections, and Compliance teams.
Present business performance, portfolio updates, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
Build and manage relationships with external partners, fintechs, aggregators, and distribution partners.
(8) Leadership & Team Management
Lead and develop high-performing teams across Product, Sales, Portfolio Management, and Analytics functions.
Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and performance excellence.
Drive employee engagement, capability building, and succession planning.
Mentor and coach team members to achieve business objectives.
