Lead Functional Developer Engineer – Haskell (Professional Services & High-Tech Practice)
We are seeking a highly experienced Haskell professional to lead the design, development, and delivery of mission-critical software solutions for clients across financial services, technology, and engineering-driven organizations. Key responsibilities include architecting scalable and type-safe Haskell systems, developing embedded domain-specific languages (eDSLs), leading client workshops, mentoring engineers, enforcing code quality standards, contributing to pre-sales activities, and supporting the organization's Haskell Centre of Excellence.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• 8+ years of production-grade Haskell development experience in large-scale, live environments.
• Deep expertise in GHC, Haskell's advanced type system (GADTs, type families, higher-kinded types, type-level programming), and effect management frameworks.
• Proven experience building eDSLs, implementing concurrent systems (STM, async, MVar/TVar), and developing services using frameworks such as Servant, Yesod, or Scotty.
• Strong experience with property-based testing (QuickCheck/Hedgehog), performance optimization, Stack/Cabal/Nix tooling, Lens ecosystem, Docker, CI/CD, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Ability to communicate complex technical architecture and type-level design concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong foundations in computer science, mathematics, type theory, and functional programming principles. Preferred Skills Experience with quantitative finance, BFSI platforms, Standard Chartered's Mu language, Cardano/Plutus smart contracts, and adjacent functional languages such as Scala, F#, OCaml, or PureScript. Community contributions, open-source work, technical publications, or conference speaking are highly valued.
