Senior Automation & Control Engineer

Sr. Automation engineer Is responsible for-

1. The Senior Automation Engineer is responsible for successful execution of assigned projects from engineering design, FAT, Site commissioning, SAT & handover.

2. Own end-to-end technical execution to deliver safe, high-performance automation projects on time with minimum rework and management intervention, while developing the engineering team and ensuring reliable project delivery—not merely write programs or respond to site problems.

3. Automation Development: Independently develop, test, troubleshoot and commission PLC, HMI and SCADA system (Development Software – Rockwell Automation).

4. Project Execution: Plan and verification of Design & Engineering documents, panel testing, installation & commissioning support & handover.

5. Team Development: Train engineers and improve their technical and project execution capabilities.

6. To Develop People skill & Continuous technical learning to grow into Automation & Engineering Manager.

Project Planning & Execution -

1. Prepare the technical execution plan and milestone timeline schedule for assigned projects.

2. Milestones – Design & Engineering documents, Procurement, Panel & system manufacturing, Automation engineering & Development, FAT, SAT, provide operator and maintenance training & Handover (Track and document milestones & escalate critical delays, resource constraints, scope changes, and commercial risks

3. Maintaining Project Documentation – , Project engineering documents, control philosophy, Maintain version-controlled PLC programs & HMI/SCADA backups, parameter records & project-specific software documentation & Password/ Encryption details, HMI & SCADA operations manual. Obtain customer sign-off/ MOM and maintain a record of outstanding punch points.

Automation Engineering & Development -

1. Independently Development of Automation System Architecture & networking technologies, batching system, recipe management, interlocking & sequence control logic, HMI/SCADA screens, alarms, batch reports, trends, reports & data logging, permissive, equipment-failure responses, including SQL Server database integration and Visual Basic scriptingoperator controls as per approved scope.

2. Conduct offline testing, I/O simulation & functional testing before site deployment. Resolve PLC/SCADA issues independently.

3. Creation, Verification & Review – Design & Engineering documents, P&IDs, control philosophies, I/O lists, cause-and-effect requirements and customer specifications, batch report, PLC logic operation are as per process sequence & approved scope. Standardize engineering practices, SOPs and reusable solutions

Technical Leadership & Team support –

1. Provide technical guidance to Electrical, Instrumentation, and Procurement teams to achieve project milestones as per set timelines. Act as first technical escalation point for all assigned project engineers.

2. Allocate technical tasks and clarify deliverables, priorities and deadlines to technical team.

3. Customer Coordination & Commissioning: Resolve technical queries, manage site needs, coordinate with customer engineering teams, lead commissioning with customer personnel & support site engineer.

4. Identify skill gaps, create structured training, and train engineers through hands-on demonstrations during on site installation, code reviews, troubleshooting and commissioning.

5. Ensure engineers follow company SOPs, drawing standards, checklists and documentation formats. Recommend improvements in engineering processes, team capability and project execution.

Learning & Development -

• Learn & upgrade skills in PLC, HMI, SCADA and Industry 4.0 tech. for future-ready automation solutions

• Lead batching, dosing & weighing automation projects.

• Develop project planning and execution skills.

• Build and standardize engineering SOPs and quality controls.

• Mentor engineers to handle projects independently.

• Develop customer management and technical decision-making skills.

Growth Path - Senior Automation Engineer -> Lead Automation Engineer -> Technical Manager -> Technical Head

Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
