Role Overview

We are looking for a Backend Lead with strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and AWS cloud technologies to lead backend engineering initiatives for enterprise applications. The ideal candidate should have hands-on development experience along with technical leadership capabilities in scalable system design, code quality, and agile delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead backend architecture, design, and development using microservices-based architecture.

• Develop and maintain scalable REST APIs and enterprise backend services.

• Mentor development teams, conduct code reviews, and enforce engineering best practices.

• Ensure application performance, scalability, reliability, and security compliance.

• Collaborate with architects, frontend teams, QA, and DevOps teams for integrated solution delivery.

• Drive cloud-native deployments and containerized application development.

• Support Agile/Scrum delivery processes, sprint planning, and technical estimations.

• Troubleshoot critical production issues and support system optimization initiatives.

• Contribute to CI/CD, automation, and DevOps engineering practices.

Required Skills

Backend Technologies

• Strong hands-on experience in:

  • Java

  • Spring Boot (4.x preferred)

  • REST API development

  • Microservices architecture

• Strong understanding of scalable and distributed systems.

Cloud & DevOps

• Experience with AWS services and cloud-native application development.

• Hands-on experience in:

  • Docker

  • Kubernetes

  • CI/CD pipelines

Database & Integration

• Strong expertise in DB2 and relational databases.

• Experience with backend integrations and enterprise application development.

Leadership & Engineering

• Experience leading backend teams and mentoring engineers.

• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.

Good to Have

• Experience with Kafka or messaging systems.

• Exposure to Jenkins, GitLab CI, or similar CI/CD tools.

• Knowledge of API Gateway and service mesh architecture.

• Banking / Financial Services domain experience.

Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or related field.
