Role Overview
As a Software Engineer III - Java at JPMorgan Chase in Mumbai, Maharashtra, you will be a key member of the Commercial & Investment Bank Payments Technology team. Key Responsibilities
- Execute software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, while thinking beyond conventional approaches to build solutions or address technical problems.
- Create secure and high-quality production code, maintaining algorithms that operate synchronously with relevant systems.
- Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to enhance code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables, validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards. Contribute learnings and reusable patterns to improve team effectiveness.
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to maximize the value of automation.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring that design constraints are met during software code development.
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to continuously improve software applications and systems.
- Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data, using insights to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 3+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- Hands-on experience with enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, demonstrating the ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations and secure handling of inputs/outputs, along with the ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage.
- Overall knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies such as CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
- Exposure to cloud technologies.
