We are looking for an experienced ETL Tester / Data Warehouse Tester to join our team and ensure the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of data across ETL pipelines and data warehouse platforms.
The ETL Tester is responsible for validating data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes across data warehouse and analytics platforms.
The role ensures data accuracy, completeness, integrity, and compliance by designing and executing test cases, performing SQL-based validations, and identifying defects throughout the ETL lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
• Planning & Execution Test
• Analyze source-to-target mappings, business requirements, and technical specifications.
• Design and develop ETL test cases, test scenarios, and validation strategies.
• Execute ETL, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end testing.
• Validate data movement across source systems, staging layers, and target data warehouses.
• Verify data transformation rules and business logic implementation. Data Validation
• Develop and execute SQL queries for data reconciliation and validation.
• Validate data quality, completeness, consistency, accuracy, and referential integrity.
• Verify primary keys, foreign keys, constraints, indexes, and data standards.
• Validate Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD), facts, dimensions, star schemas, and snowflake schemas. Defect Management
• Identify, document, and track defects using tools such as Jira.
• Work closely with ETL developers and business teams to reproduce and resolve issues.
• Participate in defect triage meetings and retesting activities.
• Verify bug fixes and perform regression testing. Collaboration & Compliance
• Collaborate with Business Analysts, Data Architects, ETL Developers, and Data Engineers.
• Review ETL design documents, data mappings, and technical specifications.
• Ensure adherence to SDLC, testing standards, validation processes, and data governance requirements.
• Escalate risks, blockers, and critical issues to project leads.
