Role Overview
Join JPMorgan Chase as a Software Engineer III in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, and elevate your software engineering career within the Commercial & Investment Bank Payments Technology team. You will play a key role in an agile team, focusing on designing and delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology products.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute software solutions, including design, development, and technical troubleshooting, while thinking beyond conventional approaches to build solutions and resolve technical problems.
- Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate synchronously with the appropriate systems.
- Utilize enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to enhance code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables, validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards. Contribute learnings and reusable patterns to improve team effectiveness.
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain to enhance the value of automation.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met during software code development.
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets to drive continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
- Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to enhance coding hygiene and system architecture.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts with 3+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Full-stack Java (enterprise) experience, including building, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Java 17+.
- Strong experience delivering through the SDLC using Agile methodologies.
- Experience with cloud-native AWS delivery, including microservices development and containerization on AWS EKS and/or ECS (to EC2), plus Terraform scripting and production AWS deployments.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
- Exposure to cloud technologies.
- Experience in REACTIVE Java programming, React JS, and Angular frameworks is a plus.
- Experience with an RDBMS (preferably Oracle or PostgreSQL).
