Matero is a quick-commerce platform for construction materials, delivering cement, steel, electricals, plumbing supplies and more directly to contractors’ and homeowners’ sites across India. We’re looking for an Android Developer with 2+ years of native Android experience (Kotlin/Java) to help build and scale our customer-facing Android app. You’ll work closely with the founder, backend and design teams to ship useful features that help customers order construction materials on the go. Key Responsibilities Build, maintain and release the Matero Android app using Kotlin, with Java where needed. Develop key commerce features, including product catalogue, search, cart, checkout, payments, order tracking and delivery updates. Integrate REST APIs and handle offline states and weak network conditions common at construction sites. Integrate payment gateways, push notifications (FCM), and location/maps for delivery addresses. Translate Figma designs into clean, responsive interfaces across a wide range of Android devices. Improve app performance, startup time, memory usage and APK size. Monitor crashes and app analytics using Firebase Crashlytics/Analytics, and resolve issues promptly. Manage Google Play Store releases, testing tracks and app updates. Write maintainable, tested code and participate in code reviews.
Requirements • 2+ years of professional experience building native Android applications. • Strong Kotlin skills and working knowledge of Java. • At least one app published and maintained on the Google Play Store. • Understanding of Android architecture (MVVM/MVI) and Jetpack components such as ViewModel, LiveData/Flow, Room, Navigation and WorkManager. • Experience with Retrofit/OkHttp, JSON and REST API integration. • Knowledge of Coroutines and Flow for asynchronous work. • Experience with dependency injection using Hilt or Dagger. • Familiarity with Jetpack Compose and XML layouts. • Comfort with Git, Android Studio, and debugging/profiling tools. • B.E./B.Tech/MCA in Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
Pay: ₹28,000.00 - ₹32,000.00 per month
