- Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and high-performance Java applications that support business requirements and serve web applications and API-based products.
- Develop backend services and enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, and related technologies.
- Collaborate with product, design, frontend, QA, DevOps, and business teams to deliver new features and improve application performance and user experience.
- Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and web services to connect frontend applications, backend systems, and third-party platforms.
- Build and maintain database integrations, ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and transaction processing.
- Follow software development best practices, including clean code, test-driven development, unit testing, code reviews, documentation, and version control.
- Maintain, enhance, and refactor existing applications to improve performance, scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve software defects, production issues, integration failures, and performance bottlenecks.
- Design and implement microservices and distributed application components where required.
- Work with database technologies to optimize SQL queries, indexing, schema design, and database performance.
- Collaborate with DevOps teams to configure, deploy, monitor, and maintain applications across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
- Work with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure to support reliable application deployment.
- Implement application security measures, including authentication, authorization, input validation, and secure API communication.
- Participate in technical discussions, architecture reviews, sprint planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure application reliability, code quality, scalability, and adherence to software engineering standards.
- Skills and Experience
- Strong expertise in Java programming, object-oriented programming, and enterprise application development.
- Advanced knowledge of Java Collections Framework, Exception Handling, Multithreading, concurrency, and Java 8+ features.
- Strong experience with Spring Framework, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Hibernate.
- Experience designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining RESTful APIs and web services.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, database design, query optimization, indexing, and transaction management.
- Experience with relational databases, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or Oracle.
- Familiarity with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Redis, or Elasticsearch.
- Understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and inter-service communication.
- Knowledge of common design patterns, SOLID principles, algorithms, data structures, and clean code practices.
- Experience with build and dependency management tools such as Maven or Gradle.
- Hands-on experience with Git and version control platforms such as GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket.
- Experience with unit testing and mocking frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Understanding of application security, Spring Security, authentication, authorization, and JWT-based authentication.
- Familiarity with frontend technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, TypeScript, and React.js or Angular is an advantage.
- Knowledge of Node.js and frontend-backend integration is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and modern deployment practices.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud is preferred.
- Familiarity with messaging systems such as Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ is an advantage.
- Understanding of application monitoring, logging, debugging, performance profiling, and production troubleshooting.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 4+ years of hands-on experience in Java development and building production-ready applications.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment.
- Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 4+ years of professional experience in Java application development.
- Demonstrated experience developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining real-world software applications.
- Strong practical knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and relational databases.
- Experience working with development teams and following software development lifecycle (SDLC) practices.
- Ability to understand technical requirements, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver maintainable solutions.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a 100% remote, full-time position.
