Senior SAP Basis Resource (Hybrid: ECC & S/4HANA) - Job Summary

Seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Senior SAP Basis Resource to manage, maintain, and optimize our hybrid SAP landscape, encompassing both SAP ECC and the newer SAP S/4HANA environments. This role is critical for ensuring the stability, performance, and security of our mission-critical SAP systems, including managing migrations and upgrades between the two platforms. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in SAP system administration, cloud integration, and advanced troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

System Administration & Monitoring: Oversee the day-to-day operations, performance monitoring, and maintenance of all SAP systems (ECC, S/4HANA, BW, Solution Manager, etc.) across various operating systems (Linux/Windows) and databases (SAP HANA, Oracle, etc.).

Landscape Management: Plan, manage, and execute system changes, transport management (TMS), client copies, system refreshes, and landscape harmonization activities.

S/4HANA Expertise: Manage and administer SAP S/4HANA, including Fiori administration, knowledge of S/4HANA architecture, and experience with new installation and migration techniques (e.g., Brownfield/Greenfield approaches).

Upgrade and Patch Management: Plan and execute SAP kernel upgrades, Support Pack Stack (SPS) implementations, and database patching across both ECC and S/4HANA landscapes with minimal disruption.

High Availability and Disaster Recovery (HA/DR): Configure, test, and maintain HA/DR solutions for SAP environments to ensure business continuity and quick recovery from system failures.

Security and Compliance: Implement and maintain SAP security parameters, user administration, role management, and ensure compliance with internal security standards and external regulatory requirements.

Performance Tuning: Proactively analyze and optimize SAP system performance, including database performance tuning, buffer tuning, and workload analysis.

Troubleshooting: Serve as a subject matter expert for complex technical issues, providing L3 support and collaborating with functional teams and external vendors to resolve critical incidents.

Cloud Operations (Preferred): Experience managing SAP systems on major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus, including backup strategies and infrastructure management in a cloud context.

Required Qualifications

Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of experience as an SAP Basis Administrator. Hybrid Landscape Proficiency: Proven hands-on experience administering both SAP ECC 6.0 and SAP S/4HANA systems.

Database Skills: Strong expertise in SAP HANA database administration, replication, and performance tuning. Experience with traditional databases (Oracle, SQL Server) is also highly desirable.

Technical Skills:

In-depth knowledge of SAP NetWeaver and underlying architecture. Expertise in installation, configuration, and maintenance of SAP components. Familiarity with operating system administration (Linux/Unix preferred).

Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed team.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. SAP Basis certification is a plus.
