Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and proactive Irrigation & Fertigation Engineer to design, implement, operate, and maintain efficient irrigation and fertigation systems. The ideal candidate will ensure optimal water and nutrient application, maximize system uptime, improve resource efficiency, and support sustainable agricultural operations through preventive maintenance and continuous process optimization.
Key Responsibilities
Design, install, and optimize drip irrigation and fertigation systems.
Prepare irrigation schedules based on crop stage, soil moisture, weather conditions, and water availability.
Operate and monitor fertigation units to ensure accurate nutrient dosing.
Monitor water meters, pressure gauges, flow rates, filters, valves, pumps, and automation systems.
Conduct preventive maintenance of irrigation and fertigation equipment to minimize downtime.
Troubleshoot and resolve system failures, leakages, clogging, and operational issues promptly.
Analyze water consumption and recommend measures to improve water-use efficiency.
Maintain accurate records of irrigation schedules, water usage, fertigation applications, maintenance activities, and system performance.
Coordinate with farm operations, agronomy, and maintenance teams to ensure uninterrupted irrigation.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and best agricultural engineering practices.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and cost optimization.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of drip irrigation and fertigation systems.
Understanding of irrigation scheduling, crop water requirements, and soil-water relationships.
Experience with pumps, filtration systems, valves, pipelines, and irrigation automation.
Knowledge of fertilizer dosing systems and nutrient management.
Ability to analyze water usage data and optimize irrigation efficiency.
Strong troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills.
Good planning, documentation, and reporting abilities.
Proficiency in MS Excel and basic reporting tools.
