About Hanuman Silk Creation

Hanuman Silk Creation is a saree and textile business looking for a skilled Odoo Developer & Business Data Analyst to manage, customise and improve our ERP system. The selected candidate will work closely with management to streamline business operations, automate processes, analyse business performance and develop useful reports and dashboards.

Key Responsibilities1. Odoo Development & Customisation

• Customise Odoo modules to meet the Company's business requirements.
• Develop and modify Odoo applications, fields, forms, views, reports and automated workflows.
• Work with Odoo modules such as Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Invoicing/Accounting, CRM and other relevant business applications.
• Develop custom modules using Python, XML and the Odoo framework.
• Configure approval workflows, user permissions, automated actions and notifications.
• Integrate Odoo with other systems using APIs where required.
• Troubleshoot errors, improve system performance and resolve technical issues.
• Maintain existing customisations and ensure compatibility during updates.
• Manage database backups, testing and safe deployment of customisations.

2. Business Data Analysis

• Analyse sales, purchase, inventory, customer and job-work data from Odoo.
• Prepare daily, weekly and monthly business performance reports.
• Create dashboards to track sales, revenue, margins, inventory movement and outstanding payments.
• Identify fast-moving and slow-moving saree designs, products and inventory.
• Analyse customer purchasing patterns, repeat orders and sales performance.
• Track job-work status, processing time, pending materials and quantity discrepancies.
• Identify operational inefficiencies, stock differences and potential business risks.
• Provide practical, data-supported recommendations to management.

3. Reporting & Automation

• Develop management reports using Excel, SQL and suitable visualisation tools.
• Automate repetitive reporting and data-processing tasks.
• Maintain accurate data and improve reporting consistency.
• Build dashboards using Power BI or similar tools where appropriate.
• Document Odoo customisations, workflows and technical changes.

4. Business Process Improvement

• Understand the Company's actual business processes before changing Odoo.
• Work with sales, counter staff, accounts, inventory and management teams.
• Convert business requirements into practical ERP solutions.
• Train employees on customised Odoo features and prepare simple user documentation.
• Maintain appropriate access controls and confidentiality of Company data.

Required Technical Skills

• Hands-on experience with Odoo ERP and its configuration/customisation.
• Python programming.
• XML, Odoo views, models, computed fields and automated actions.
• PostgreSQL and basic SQL queries.
• Understanding of Odoo modules, ORM, security/access rights and reporting.
• Excel, including PivotTables, lookup functions and data cleaning.
• Experience creating business reports and analysing operational data.
• Familiarity with Git, testing, backups and deployment procedures.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Power BI or another dashboard tool.
• Knowledge of Odoo API integrations and external systems.
• Experience developing custom Odoo modules.
• Familiarity with retail, wholesale, textile, inventory or manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of job-work tracking, inventory reconciliation, invoicing and purchasing workflows.
• Experience with Python data libraries such as Pandas is an advantage.

Candidate Requirements

• Degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, Data Analytics or a related field; demonstrable practical skills will also be considered.
• Relevant Odoo development or implementation experience is preferred.
• Candidates must be able to demonstrate actual Odoo customisation work, not just basic data entry or end-user experience.
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work with non-technical employees.
• Responsible handling of business data and confidential information.

Selection Process

• Customising an Odoo form or workflow.
• Creating a simple report using business data.
• Analysing a sales or inventory dataset and explaining the findings.
• Identifying an error or discrepancy in a sample business process.
