About the Role

We are looking for a Django Backend Developer to design, develop and maintain enterprise backend services and

REST APIs. The candidate should independently own backend modules covering database models, business logic, API security, integration and testing, and work with frontend, database, QA and DevOps teams to deliver reliable

applications. Key Responsibilities  Develop backend services and REST APIs using Python, Django and Django REST Framework.  Implement models, serializers, views/viewsets, routing, validation, pagination and consistent API error handling.  Build authentication, authorization and role-based permissions; enforce data access and business rules on the

backend.  Design Django models and PostgreSQL migrations; optimise ORM queries, indexes and transaction handling.  Integrate internal and external APIs and implement background jobs, retries and error handling where required.  Write unit and integration tests, maintain OpenAPI documentation and support API validation using Postman.  Use Git/GitLab and Docker; support CI/CD releases, troubleshoot application logs and resolve production or

staging defects. Required Skills and Qualifications  4–5 years of backend development experience with strong hands-on Python, Django and Django REST

Framework expertise.  Strong understanding of REST API design, HTTP methods/status codes, serializers and request validation.  Experience with Django ORM, QuerySets, migrations, transactions and query optimisation, including N+1 query

troubleshooting.  Practical PostgreSQL and SQL skills covering schema design, joins, constraints and indexing.  Experience implementing authentication and authorization using Django/DRF permissions and JWT, OAuth2 or

equivalent mechanisms.  Working knowledge of background tasks, API integrations, Git, Docker and Linux deployment environments.  Experience with automated backend tests, API documentation and independent debugging of application or

database issues. Good to Have

 Experience with Celery, Redis, RabbitMQ or Kafka for asynchronous processing.  Exposure to offline-first systems, synchronization, idempotent APIs and store-and-forward workflows.  Experience with microservices, FastAPI, secure coding or air-gapped/on-premise deployments.
