Backend Developer (Node.js) – Codebuddy, Kolkata
Build scalable backend systems for clients around the world.
Who We Are
We're Codebuddy, a young product engineering team in Kolkata. In 5 years, we've worked with 120+ clients across industries, and we're just getting started. We want a backend developer who enjoys building systems that scale and don't break.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain clean, dependable backend applications, even under tight deadlines.
- Integrate third-party APIs and payment gateways like Stripe and PayPal, securely.
- Design database structures and ER diagrams, and run POCs for new features.
- Test your API integrations and own the QA for your work.
- Debug issues and document the fixes so they don't come back.
- Write reusable code that makes the next feature faster to build.
- Join code reviews, sprint planning, and daily standups.
- Keep tasks updated in Asana so the team stays aligned.
- Talk to clients about technical requirements, clearly and confidently.
- Help shape our best practices and support teammates as they grow.

You'll contribute to products like Theneo (AI-powered API docs), PandaDoc (document creation and e-signing), and IEE (credential evaluation).
What We're Looking For
- CS or a related degree, and proven experience as a backend developer.
- Hands-on experience with JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, Docker, and Git.
- A good grasp of SQL and NoSQL databases.
