Role Overview
As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase in Mumbai, Maharashtra, you will be part of the Commercial & Investment Bank Payments Technology team. Key Responsibilities
- Execute software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond conventional approaches to build solutions and resolve technical problems.
- Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate synchronously with appropriate systems.
- Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to enhance code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables, while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards.
- Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) toolchain to maximize the value of automation.
- Produce architecture and design artifacts for complex applications, ensuring design constraints are met during software code development.
- Gather, analyze, synthesize, and develop visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets for continuous improvement of software applications and systems.
- Proactively identify hidden problems and patterns in data to drive improvements in coding hygiene and system architecture.
Required Qualifications
- Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and a minimum of 3 years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Full-stack Java (enterprise) development experience, including building, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment using modern programming languages and database querying languages.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Java 17+.
- Strong experience delivering through the SDLC using Agile methodologies.
- Experience in cloud-native AWS delivery, including microservices development and containerization with deployment on AWS EKS and/or ECS (to EC2), plus Terraform scripting and production AWS deployments; familiarity with an RDBMS (preferably Oracle or PostgreSQL).
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations and secure handling of inputs/outputs; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.
- Exposure to cloud technologies.
- Experience in REACTIVE Java programming, React JS, and Angular frameworks is an added advantage.
